Enrique A. Völckers-Nin is a keyfigure in the field of technology and innovation in Puerto Rico, with a careerthat combines private sector experience and significant government roles. Heholds an academic background in Computer Programming from the University ofPuerto Rico at Mayagüez and studied Business Administration and Marketing atthe Río Piedras Campus. Additionally, he pursued studies in Graphic Design,Short Film Direction at the New York Film Academy, and Movie Editing acrossvarious locations, including Los Angeles, Orlando, Texas, and New York, throughApple Computers. 

Before diving into emergingtechnologies, Völckers-Nin established himself as an entrepreneur in thecreative industry. He owned a Graphic Design Studio, where he worked onbranding, visual communication, and digital media projects. Alongside this, healso operated a women's apparel store in the renowned Centro Europa inSanturce, a hub for culture and commerce in Puerto Rico. These venturesprovided him with a strong foundation in business, creativity, and consumerengagement, shaping his approach to innovation and digital transformation. 

In 2022, Völckers-Nin served asSecretary of Innovation, Information, Data, and Technology for the Governmentof Puerto Rico, appointed by Governor Pedro Pierluisi. In this role, he focusedon integrating all government agencies to be more agile in their serviceofferings to citizens, alongside supervising and effectively launching thegame-changing Digital Vehicle Tag and renewal process in Puerto Rico. Duringhis tenure at PRITS (Puerto Rico Innovation & Technology Service) in 2021,he led significant initiatives such as the launch of Puerto Rico's firstDigital Vaccination Credential (Vacu ID), CESCO Digital, the Digital Driver'sLicense, and the centralized interconnectivity platform IDEAL, setting a newstandard for digital services management on the island. Additionally, hedeveloped and implemented the Puerto Rico Accountability and Performanceplatform, which served as a Centralized Data Intelligence tool for governmentdecision-making.

With over three decades ofprivate and public sector experience, Völckers-Nin has led the development ofvarious e-commerce platforms, digital projects incorporating machine learningand unique identity technologies, and has contributed to advancing technologyand innovation in Puerto Rico through his work with music, motor vehiclepromotion, food & beverage, and image recognition-based remunerationsystems. 

Additionally, he co-founded thefirst Innovation and Collaboration Center of Puerto Rico at the University ofthe Sacred Heart, Neeuko, and in 2006, became the first Puerto Rican certifiedby Apple as a Professional Trainer for Latin America and Puerto Rico. Hisindustry involvement extends to roles in the Interactive Advertising Bureau andas Development Director at the San Jorge Children's Foundation, affiliated withthe Children's Miracle Network. 

In his latest role, Enrique A.Völckers-Nin is distinguished by his contributions to developing the island'sbroadband infrastructure as Executive Director of the Puerto Rico BroadbandProgram, securing over $1,000 million in local and federal funds. He was also atrustee of the Puerto Rico Science, Technology, and Research Trust. Hecontinues to drive initiatives that promote access to advanced technologies andfoster research and innovation in the region. His work is a testament to hiscommitment to technological advancement and digital transformation in PuertoRico, always focused on benefiting the citizenry and the island's sustainabledevelopment.

Recently, Enrique Völckers-Nin has created aconsulting service called Humin, LLC. This company focuses on bringing humanintelligence, innovation, and information to businesses, helping them becomemore agile and oriented towards business intelligence, business and serviceofferings.
